Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Open HEIC2ALL

Go to HEIC2ALL converter. The batch converter works entirely in your browser.

Step 2: Select All Your HEIC Files

You have two options:

Option A: Drag and Drop

  1. Open your folder containing HEIC files
  2. Select all files (Ctrl+A on Windows, Cmd+A on Mac)
  3. Drag the selected files onto the converter

Option B: Browse and Select

  1. Click the upload area in the converter
  2. Navigate to your HEIC folder
  3. Select all files (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A)
  4. Click Open

Step 3: Choose Output Format

Select your preferred format from the dropdown:

  • JPG - Most compatible, recommended for sharing
  • PNG - Lossless quality, larger files
  • WebP - Smallest files, best for web

Step 4: Set Quality Settings

Adjust quality (for JPG/WebP) - 80% works well for most uses. The same settings apply to all files in the batch.

Step 5: Convert All

Browser Memory Considerations

Very large batches (hundreds of high-resolution files) can use significant browser memory. If you experience slowdowns:

  • Convert in smaller batches (50-100 files at a time)
  • Close other browser tabs
  • Use a modern browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)

Quality Settings for Batch

When batch converting for different purposes:

  • Archiving - Use PNG or 100% JPG quality
  • Sharing - 80% JPG is perfect
  • Web upload - 70-80% WebP for smallest files
  • Printing - 95-100% JPG or PNG

Organizing Output Files

After downloading your ZIP file:

  1. Extract the ZIP to a folder
  2. Converted files maintain their original names (with new extension)
  3. Use your file manager to sort, rename, or organize as needed

The files are named exactly like the originals, just with .jpg, .png, or .webp extension instead of .heic.
